Composition: Toner is primarily made up of finely ground plastic particles, carbon black (for black toner) or other color pigments, and additives that provide magnetic properties and help the toner flow and fuse to the paper.
How it works (in laser printers):
A laser beam creates an electrostatic charge on a rotating drum within the printer.
Toner particles are attracted to these charged areas on the drum, forming the image or text.
The toner is then transferred from the drum onto the paper.
Finally, the paper passes through a fuser unit, which uses heat and pressure to melt and permanently bond the toner to the paper. This is why printed pages from a laser printer often feel warm.
